Mandu to Launch Anju, a Late Night Korean Pop-Up

Mandu is launching a monthly late-night bar menu beginning June 6, with input from guest chefs.

The pop-up will be called Anju, and focus on Korean bar snacks. It will take place monthly, with Jonah Kim of Baltimore partnering with Danny Lee for the first event at 10 p.m. The events will be held on the first Friday of each month at the K Street location's bar until 1 a.m. Seating is first come, first serve.

The term anju refers to snacks that go with alcohol and drinking. There will be smaller and entree-sized portions available, and dishes will be $6-$15 each or $30 for six snacks. Expect dishes like oysters with kimchi cocktail sauce, Bo ssam, radishes with uni butter, cheese ramen and Korean fried chicken at the first event. Wash it all down with homemade cucumber soju or makkoli, a wheat and rice spirit. And here's a tease — Lee is hoping to open his own late night Korean bar eventually.
