Alexandria Food Trucks to Hold a 'Rodeo'

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Alexandria's city council voted earlier this month to allow food trucks within restricted areas of the city — for a sixteen month trial period. The trucks are hoping to give residents an early taste of what this will mean to the city with an event in early June.

Seven trucks are planning to partner up for the West End Food Truck Rodeo on June 6. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Southern Towers Apartments on Seminary Road. Trucks scheduled to appear: Doug the Food Dude, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Borinquen Lunch Box, PhoWeels, DC Slices, Curbside Cupcakes and Sinplicity Ice Cream.

There will also be a watermelon eating contest, face painting, beers from Port City and a fashion truck.
