D.C., admittedly, is kind of a Decent Bagel Desert. Cork Market got firsthand evidence of this fact when it decide to launch a pop-up event this weekend with start-up venture Bullfrog Bagels.

Bullfrog Bagels is from Jeremiah Cohen, a former general manager at Tabard Inn. He's selling bagels and bialys at the market all weekend and demand has been pretty intense. The restaurant received 1,000 preorders and Cohen and his team made an additional 200 bagels this morning. They're hoping to get 400 extras made for tomorrow.

The event has been so successful already that they're extending it to next weekend, June 6-8. Customers can preorder bagels through Cork's email or by calling the restaurant at 202-265-2674. Eater photographer Rey Lopez was on the scene picking up some bagels himself and captured the madness.
