The new America Eats Tavern in Tysons Corner definitely screams, well, "America!" The phrase, "We the People" is scrolled above the open kitchen. There's a flag pattern on the city. The logo on the restaurant's entrance is flag-reminiscent as well.
The space that used to house Michel and before that, Maestro has been transformed to a lighter, brighter restaurant. There are plenty of whites, greys and wood tones, with a few accents of red and yellow here and there. The José Andrés restaurant has some Americana-style accents, such as a typewriter and scale in the private dining room.
America Eats Tavern, now getting a second life after its initial, temporary run in Penn Quarter, is scheduled to debut next week. Nate Waugaman is head chef.
