D.C. burger fans are anticipating the eventual arrival of Umami Burger to D.C. Here's another tease — they have a José Andrés burger this month that Washingtonians can't sample unless they're going to travel to say, California.
The company has been collaborating with chefs on speciality burgers recently for its Artist Series (Michael Voltaggio created another one for the company). The Andrés burger features Spanish-inspired ingredients, including a pork and cured ham patty, piquillo pepper confit, caramelized onion, manchengo cheese and aoli. It will be available May 20, and $1 of every burger sold is being donated to the World Central Kitchen.
At last check-in, the company was planning four D.C. area locations. A spokesman tells Eater today there is no new news on the expansion, though.
