Robert Wiedmaier's gourmet shop, The Butcher's Block is going to close up shop on June 28. According to a statement from Kimpton Hotels, which operates the property, the company wants to keep its focus on Brabo and The Tasting Room, both located at the Lorien Hotel & Spa.
"Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, in conjunction with Robert Wiedmaier, is committed to working with all current employees of The Butcher's Block to find other potential job opportunities within the company. Meanwhile, BRABO and The Tasting Room remain dedicated to serving the Old Town Alexandria community," the company said in a statement.
The space will be available for lease.
