BALLSTON— And then there was one. Victor Albisu, who was aiming to open a Mexican restaurant in Ballston, has pulled out of the controversial Ballston BID restaurant competition. The move comes not long after Mike Isabella announced plans for a Mexican place in Ballston. That means Christina Campos, who was the other finalist and planning a Spanish restaurant, is the winner, Washington Business Journal reports. [WBJ]
PENN QUARTER— Jose Adorno has been promoted to chef de cuisine at Graffiato. Adorno, who has worked for Isabella's restaurants since last June, is adding his own dishes to the menu, like sea bream with spaghetti squash. [EaterWire]
