1) Derecho Common Release Party
Where: Port City Brewing Company
3950 Wheeler Ave, Alexandria, VA
When: Friday (starting at 3 p.m.)
What: The beer that was born out of a storm is now an annual tradition. Port City will be tapping the first keg of the beer beginning at 3 p.m. Friday. Borinquen Lunch Box is scheduled to stop by later in the day, and there will be live music during the evening. More info here.
2) Bartender's Brunch
Where: Poste

When: Sunday from 3 p.m. to midnight
What: Poste (along with Industree) is hosting a Bartender's Brunch where industry folks can enjoy $4 Bloody Marys, DC Brau and Bulleit specials, plus food specials on chicken and waffles and other items. No reservations required.
3) VinoFest
Where: Union Market
1309 5th St. NE
When: Saturday from 2-10 p.m.
What: This wine festival at Union Market features a number of musical acts, including Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation, as well as artists and plenty of wine. Tickets vary in price depending on what package bought. A full lineup and more information is available here.
4) Dueling Crawfish Boils
Where: Pearl Dive, Society Fair
When: Saturday
What: Two different fun restaurants are featuring crawfish boils this weekend. Pearl Dive's last one of the summer has two different time slots: one at noon and another at 2:30. Tickets here. Meanwhile Society Fair is doing one for the first time - it starts at 5 and $28 gets attendees plenty of food and beer. Tickets for that one are here.
5) Freak Show Without a Tent Party
Where: Trohv in Takoma

When: Sunday at
What: Local food writer Nevin Martell has a memoir coming out called "Freak Show Without a Tent." He's having a party to launch it that will feature plenty of local food treats. Expect ice coffee from La Mano, drinks from Republic, macaroons from DC Patisserie, doughnuts from Astro and more.
