Bring them cauliflower, they will come. Tico has been open for less than two months on 14th Street, but customers have been pouring in for the South American and Mexican-inspired food from Boston restaurateur Michael Schlow. The restaurant shared some of its opening numbers with Eater, and the results are pretty staggering.
So far, the restaurant has put out:
· 5,223 hibiscus margaritas
· 1,076 orders of meatballs (that adds up to 6,456 meatballs)
· 1,482 orders of cauliflower
· 1,128 orders of crispy Manchego or (7,896 pieces of breaded cheese)
· Almost 1,000 duck tacos, the most popular taco (even beating out the two-textured short-rib, an Eater favorite)
· 995 orders of mac & cheese (which is almost 400 pounds of elbow macaroni)
· 955 orders of tuna ceviche (the most popular ceviche)
· And 117 of the 125+ types of tequila on the menu have been ordered
