Is Thip Khao Replacing Thaitanic II?

Bangkok Golden's chef Seng Luangrath is opening a much-anticipated restaurant in D.C. —Thip Khao — but hasn't said exactly where it's going. PoPville has posited that the restaurant will replace Thaitanic II, which he reports will close at 3462 14th St. NW.

Is it happening? A spokesperson for Thip Khao wouldn't confirm. "Everything that you have heard is speculation," they said via email. "We have not confirmed to anyone any locations yet, other than the neighborhood, and do not plan to do so until our soft opening. Stay tuned!"

What has been confirmed: the restaurant will be in Columbia Heights, and there's an existing restaurant in the space.
