The Walrus Oyster & Alehouse, a reference to the Lewis Carroll poem, had hoped to debut today with frozen drinks, seafood and more. But a spokesperson for the restaurant confirms today that the new target opening date is August 18.

On deck (literally; there's a big one) for National Harbor, once it opens: Eastern Shore seafood (Bob Kinkead consulted on the menu), lobster rolls and more. The restaurant is 6,700 square feet, with seating for 150 and a space designed by SM + P. There's seating (and umbrellas) for 75 on the deck. Restaurateur Michael Sternberg is overseeing the project. Meanwhile, National Harbor visitors can console themselves with yesterday's announcement: a new brewery is headed to the development.
