Crumbs Bake Shop is closing all of its locations after being delisted from the Nasdaq stock exchange.
The company told its employees of the decision Monday, and confirmed the news to several media outlets. The New York-based company was delisted July 1, which triggered a default July 6.
Crumbs went public about three years ago, and was one of the major dessert chains to benefit from the cupcake boom. They've had a presence in D.C. for several years now and were one of the first out-of-town cupcake purveyors to arrive in the area. The company lists five D.C. and Northern Virginia locations remaining on its website, though at least one of those had closed prior to Monday's news.
