Chang Confirms Plans for a D.C. Spin on Momofuku

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

It's definitely happening. Chef David Chang tells Washingtonian that, as expected, he will open a restaurant in D.C.'s CityCenter development

The chef tells Todd Kliman the restaurant will be across from Daniel Boulud's DBGB (opening in September), and have both similarities to and differences from to the New York Momofuku. The restaurant will be 4,500 square feet in size and, well, there will be pork buns. The rest of the menu items are up in the air.

The interview is a choppy one, with Chang saying the restaurant will open sometime next year. He asks that Washingtonians "don't judge us now, and don't judge us a year from now. Judge us in five years, or ten."

Update: A location of Momofuku Milk Bar will join the development as well. "Soft serve & cookies for all," Tweets Chang.
