Yesterday's big reveal was that David Chang will be opening a Momofuku restaurant in D.C.'s CityCenter development. The company put out an official statement today confirming the news, and offering a hint at what's to come from the restaurant. From the statement:
Momofuku is excited to announce that we will be opening a restaurant and a Milk Bar location in Washington's CityCenterDC, on the corner of 11th and I Street. The restaurant will be a new concept, but will also feature some of our favorite dishes from across our menus in New York, Sydney, and Toronto. The project will open in 2015.This will be David Chang and Christina Tosi's first project in the District and both look forward to opening in the D.C. area, close to their respective hometowns.
It's hard to say exactly what will appear on the restaurant's menu (Chang has confirmed there will be pork buns), but it's a big win for CityCenter, which will also feature D.C.'s first restaurant from New York's Daniel Boulud, DBGB Kitchen + Bar, slated to open in September.
