Peter Chang's Rockville Restaurant Opens Next Year

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Huge news for Maryland today — it's official that renowned Virginia chef Peter Chang, who has some of the most devoted fans in the restaurant business, will open a restaurant at Rockville Town Square in early 2015.

The restaurant will be part of the Federal Realty Investment Trust development, and occupy just over 3,000 square feet. According to an announcement from the developer, the restaurant will "specialize in healthy and traditional Chinese cuisine and will be unique in concept from his other locations." Expect dishes like duck in a stone pot and Grandma's steamed pork belly.

This is the first Chang restaurant confirmed for the D.C. area, though he has several in Virginia, including Fredericksburg and Richmond. Chang's business partner has also expressed interest in opening a restaurant in Fairfax.
