Big names like Daniel Boulud and José Andrés. Expansions of beloved local restaurants like Chez Billy and Kapnos. Interesting local projects like Pop's Seabar and El Camino. It's shaping up to be an impressive fall for D.C. restaurants. And — gasp — could D.C. finally see the arrival of Maketto? Here are some of the standouts to get excited about.
1) China Chilcano
Address: 418 7th St. NW
From: Jose Andres, ThinkFoodGroup

Projected Opening: Late fall
· All Previous China Chilcano Coverage
2) DBGB Kitchen + Bar
Address: CityCenter DC
From: Daniel Boulud
The Situation: Mega-chef Daniel Boulud will open his first project in D.C. this fall. DBGB Kitchen + Bar will be similar to the New York outpost of the same name, which runs casual and specializes in such dishes as steaks and cocktails.

3) Kapnos Taverna
Address: 4000 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, Va.

4) Chez Billy Sud
Address: 1039 31st Street NW.
From: Brendan L'Etoile, Eric and Ian Hilton

5) Pinea
Address: 515 15th St. NW
From: W Hotel, Barry Koslow, Starwood
The Situation: Pinea is the new restaurant that is replacing J&G Steakhouse at the W Hotel. Chef Barry Koslow returns to fine dining after his stint at DGS Delicatessen. The restaurant's menu will focus on the cuisines of Spain, Italy and France.
Projected Opening: September
· All Previous Pinea Coverage
6) El Camino
Address: 108 Rhode Island Ave. NW
From: Tony Lucca and Phil Rodriguez
The Situation: The 1905 team is progressing with its plans to open a traditional Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. The food will be paired with a variety of Latin cocktails.
Projected Opening: October
· All Previous El Camino Coverage
7) Pop's Seabar
Address: 1817 Columbia Rd. NW
From: Justin Abad and John Manolatos
The Situation: The chef and manager of Cashion's Eat Place are opening their casual tribute to the Jersey shore in Adams Morgan. Expect seafood baskets, orange crushes, Taylor ham and more.
Projected Opening: September
· All Previous Pop's Seabar Coverage
8) Mama Rouge
Address: 3000 K St. NW
From: The Bangkok Joe's team, Mel Oursinsini
The Situation: Longtime waterfront stalwart Bangkok Joe's is retooling its concept. It will reopen as Mama Rouge, with an emphasis on both Southeast Asian and French cuisine.
Projected Opening: September
· All Previous Mama Rouge Coverage
9) Orange Anchor
Address: 3050 K St. NW
From: Reese Gardner and team
The Situation: From the people who brought you Copperwood Tavern and Irish Whiskey comes Orange Anchor, a nautical bar and restaurant. The place will have seafood, sea-inspired decor, rum and orange-flavored drinks and even dockside delivery.
Projected Opening: October
· All Previous Orange Anchor Coverage [-EDC-]
10) Maketto
Address: 1351 H St. NE
From: Erik Bruner-Yang, James Wozniuk, Ansuron Plyraharn, Chris Vigilante, Angel Franco
