Congratulations are in order for 2941's Bertrand Chemel. The respected chef became an American citizen this week. The restaurant posted a message on its Facebook page.

Congrats to our very own Executive Chef Bertrand Chemel on becoming an American citizen today!!! We are so lucky to have this amazing, talented, hardworking, and warm-hearted individual leading our culinary team at 2941.

Chemel is the second high-profile D.C. chef to become a citizen in the past year José Andrés announced his new citizenship in November.
