Baked & Wired Makes it Official in Mt. Vernon Triangle

Baked & Wired has signed its lease for the new location they were planning in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood. The Georgetown bakery heads next to the Lyric 440 K Apartments building.

The new shop will be 4,231 square feet in size. No name yet, but it will be a sister store to the original location. They'll offer homemade breads made with traditional methods, coffees from a Slayer espresso machine (they'll work with several small roasters) and light fare that will pair said breads with spreads and toppings. No word yet whether a "toast bar" is happening, as previously reported.

They'll serve pastries, too, and handle special orders. The bakery will open in early 2015 from owner Tony Velazquez.
