Daniel Boulud's first (and perhaps his only) D.C. restaurant, DBGB Kitchen + Bar, is poised to make a splash at the new CityCenter development in Penn Quarter this Saturday. The design of the restaurant shares some similarities to its New York counterpart, such as etched food-related quotes on the outer glass walls. Bookshelves display dozens of plates accented with artwork done by chefs across the country, including some local chefs such as Bryan Voltaggio. The restaurant was still putting finishing touches on construction Wednesday.

The multi-level restaurant includes a private dining area upstairs. The bar area in front will serve a large selection of beers on tap, plus wines and specialty cocktails (a bar menu will be available all day long, including between lunch and dinner service). A patio will eventually follow.
