No food. Cheap beer. And a focus on the pianos.
That's the game plan for Georgetown Piano Bar, which opens its doors today. The new piano bar from Bill Thoet brings together some former staffers from Mr. Smith's, as well as pianists Hunter Lang and Spencer Bates.
The design incorporates a lot of wood, with a red and mahogany color scheme (even a piano is red). The restaurant is laid out so that two piano players could perform at the same time.
The bar won't serve food (customers can bring food in from other locations), but they'll have several $6 beers, some $10 specialty cocktails, and martinis.
