DBGB is Open, Serving Baked Alaska and Tartare

Daniel Boulud is now making his mark on Washington with the new DBGB Kitchen + Bar. The restaurant held a VIP opening party Friday, with attendees ranging from Carla Hall and José Andrés to environmentalist Philippe Cousteau. An ice sculpture of the Washington monument, a generous raw bar and a giant Baked Alaska torched by Boulud himself were among the event highlights.

The restaurant opened to the public Saturday to sold-out reservations. They'll be starting brunch service in about three weeks. Status: Certified open. 931 H St NW; website.
