Inside Chuy's: Colorful and Kitschy, with a Nacho Car

Chuy's Fairfax [Photos: R. Lopez]

An Elvis shrine. Leopard print seating. And of course, a nacho car.

Those are some of the visuals that greet diners heading into Chuy's. The Texas favorite is opening its first D.C. area location in Fairfax tomorrow (a Springfield restaurant will follow later this year).

Other visual standouts include a hubcap-covered ceiling, a painted fish sculpture, a bar devoted to dog photos and a spot to watch cooks making tortillas. The restaurant also has a big patio, and lots of colorful tables and chairs.
