Will Gastón Acurio's D.C. Restaurant Be La Mar?

More chatter about what the Peruvian super chef might open here.

Peruvian super chef Gastón Acurio said back in July that he has plans to open a restaurant in D.C. Details were vague at the time, but an interview with the chef published in Fine Dining Lovers indicates the project may be La Mar Cebichería Peruana, a Peruvian restaurant he currently operates in such locations as Miami and San Francisco (there used to be one in New York). From the article:

We're looking at expansion for La Mar in London, Dubai and Washington DC but I think it's almost sure that we're doing something like La Mar in London - same atmosphere, same style, sharing plates.

The chef is also looking to open two fast-casual restaurants, and is at work on his first English cookbook.
