1) Penn Quarter Del Frisco's Double Eagle makes its debut at CityCenterDC today. It will open for dinner this evening and then open at 11 a.m after that. This is the higher-end version of the Del Frisco's chain that was first introduced to D.C. a few years ago.
Executive Chef Scott Kroener is leading the team at the high-end steakhouse. Menu items range from lobster mac and cheese to a variety of bone-in steaks. There are wines from more than 1,200 labels. The restaurant stretches over multiple levels. Status: Opening tonight. 950 Eye Street NW; website.
2) Gaithersburg: Another location of Paladar Kitchen + Rum Bar opens at the Downtown Crown development today. The restaurant is overseen by chef Gregory Webb, a veteran of Clover Restaurant Group. 3) Dupont Circle: A combination Indian cafe, grocery store and cooking school has soft-opened. PoPville reports on Pansaari, which sells everything from spices to linens. Status: Soft-opening phase. 1603 17th Street, NW; website.
