A Chicago-based restaurant group has its sights on Washington. Eater Chicago reported last Friday that Mercadito Hospitality will bring its flagship restaurant, Mercadito, to D.C.

Eater DC followed up with a rep for Mercadito, who says the restaurant will be located at the new Marriott Marquis hotel downtown. There is still one space at the hotel for an unopened restaurant, which Eater previously speculated might be Mercadito on account of some clues from Marriott. The restaurant does not have an opening date yet, but hopes to open this winter. A spokesman for Marriott could not confirm or provide any further information.

Mercadito serves a variety of Mexican and Latin dishes like tacos and elote, and features a large tequila section as well. Here's the Chicago menu. Eater has reached out to learn more about their plans for Washington.
