The Mighty Pint is Closed for a Retool

The place for beer and pierogis will shift to a Pennsylvania-themed restaurant.

The Mighty Pint has closed for now, but when it reopens early next month, it will have a new look, new name and a new menu (but the same owners).

The ownership of the Dupont Circle bar revealed back in August that they would retool it, and reopen as Second State. Washingtonian has more details about the plans: some menu items from the bar's sister restaurants, Irish Whiskey and Copperwood Tavern, will make their way to the new menu, while there will be Pennsylvania-inspired additions like roasted pheasant and potato-cheddar pierogis (good to know the spot will still be one of the city's few options for the Polish dish).

Owner Reese Gardner has several projects in the works right now, including the nautical Orange Anchor in Georgetown and a NoMa bar called Union Social.
