Delivery service OrderAhead is making its debut in D.C. today, with the promise of delivering (frozen) Double Doubles from California's In-N-Out burger to early customers. But not everyone will get one.
A spokeswoman tells Eater they sold out within 30 minutes of ordering (Eater placed an order right after getting an email saying the system was open, but didn't make the cut). The company prepared a few hundred burgers for delivery and was surprised by the demand.
Though people who initially placed an order may see a temporary charge on their credit card, OrderAhead says no one will be charged if they can't get a burger. Additionally, it looks like some customers are being offered delivery credits for their trouble.
OrderAhead is an app offering delivery from restaurants in D.C. that don't normally provide the service. Here's their list of current partners.
Did you successfully receive an In-N-Out burger? Send Eater a photo of what it looks like post-microwaving and let us know what you thought of it.
