Starting tomorrow, diners don't have to be guests of the hotel to check out Willie's Bar.

The new watering hole within the Embassy Suites in Chevy Chase opens to the public Tuesday. It's about 2,000 square feet in size, with 22 lounge seats, lots of liquor, and wine and beer as well. The hotel has also renovated its adjacent Atrio Cafe and Lounge, which will serve Latin and Mediterranean-influenced dishes within the property.

The bar and restaurant are serving up dishes like kale and artichoke dip, fish tacos, spicy queso, calamari, and several flatbread pizzas. Willie's Bar is named for s named after the hotel’s former sous chef Wilfredo Benavides who died last year from Lou Gehrig's disease (one percent of sales benefit ALS).
