McFadden's has closed permanently (after a stabbing incident left five people injured in December). The bar, which was close to the George Washington University campus, was a destination for many college students, particularly on Tuesdays.
The GW Hatchet, the school's student paper, has a story today about how college kids are finding themselves without anywhere to go on Tuesday nights now. Some at least have a little perspective, though. "You can't replace your friends but you can replace a bar," says a 2012 graduate in the piece.
