Pinea is rebranding its downstairs bar with a new name and a new focus on whiskey. The Root Cellar Whiskey Bar will open to the public on Thursday, January 15. Expect to find a rare selection of whiskeys at the cozy, revamped bar. And that $449 Pappy Van Winkle-themed dinner is part of the Root Cellar Whiskey Bar's relaunch. Pinea will host a monthly dinner pairings series at the bar showcasing their selections of whiskeys, scotches and wines.

But the Root Cellar Whiskey Bar won't be all $449 dinners. They'll also host a daily happy hour from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. where the bar will offer drink specials and half-price items from the "merenda" menu. That's Pinea's menu of Mediterranean-inspired sharable dishes like grilled pork skewers and avocado and pistachio bruschetta. See the entire menu and the Root Cellar Whiskey Bar's drink menu below.
