Velocity Five Will Transform Into "American Beer Garden" Courthaus Social

"We’ll still have the biggest schnitzel in town.”

Courthouse sports bar Velocity Five at 2300 Clarendon Blvd is getting a kinda-German makeover and will soon become Courthaus Social, ARLnow reports.

It's going to be a German restaurant in the sense that there will be beer garden-esque seating with long tables and benches, German beers on the menu, two-liter boot glasses, and the word "haus" in the name. And Velocity Five co-owner Nema Sayadian told ARLnow that there will be German items on the menu, saying, "We’ll still have the biggest schnitzel in town."

But the original plan was to make Velocity Five even more Bavarian. Tthe owners of Velocity Five changed course a bit, and now their new "American beer garden" concept will spotlight beers from local breweries like Starr Hill, Port City and Mad Fox. There will be more than 30 beers on tap. Velocity Five will close down for one month for the renovation, and will re-open with an expanded patio.
