The State of the Union has a spectator sport quality in politics-obsessed Washington. Here are five places taking advantage of that.
*Busboys and Poets: Per usual, all locations of Busboys will be showing the State of the Union on television tonight (and now there are five neighborhoods to choose from). Specifics vary by location.
*Local 16: The bar has its sixth annual party, hosted by the Network for Progress, ($10 suggested donation) with pizza and drink tickets for early birds, a raffle and more. It starts at 6:30. More here.
*Ventnor's Cafe: This is year 10 for Ventnor's annual party. Attendees pick a word to begin a drinking game, and when the President says it, jello shots are $1. They're expecting a big crowd, so get there early.
*Denizens Brewing Company: This drinking game may not quite be so drunken. At Denizens, if the President says "craft beer," all watchers get a pint. Better start lobbying.
Nellie's: The festivities at Nellie's kick off at 8:30 and they'll have audio of the address playing in all rooms.
