Drinkers who have wandered into Hank's on the Hill over the past year have more than likely gotten a laugh out of the fun, themed drinks menus the bartenders have been putting together these last 52 weeks. Drink themes have ranged from One Hit Wonders to Top Gun to Top Chef, courtesy of bartenders Gina Chersevani, Michael Saccone, Jason Strich, and Sam Schmidt.
To celebrate all the fun they've been having, the bar will be featuring a composite menu of some of the best drinks of the year, starting next Thursday and running through Feb. 28. Some of the cocktails that made the cut include I Know What Boys Like (featuring bacon-washed rye), the Dublin Lemonade (made with limoncello) and the Aperol-spiked mouthful, An Italian Gentleman Riding His Bike Through The Piazza on a Crisp Spring Day with his Pant Leg Rolled Slightly Above his Ankle. Say that one three times fast.
Lead bartender Gina Chersevani is expecting her second child in February, and is not planning to return to the bar after that so she can focus on her family, according to a press release. She'll continue to run Buffalo & Bergen at Union Market, and some new endeavors will come down the line. Mike Saccone will take over Hank's bar program in March.
