Here's an update on Pizza Studio, one of the many fast-casual pizza restaurant chains that set its sights on D.C. in the past year or so. The restaurant aims to open in late February at 1333 New Hampshire Ave. NW, according to a press release.

The chain is out of Southern California, with 24 locations nationally. Pizza Studio encourages customers to create their own "masterpiece" pizzas for $7.99 each (there are also some set combinations of toppings). Salads and cookies round out the menu.

Each location is decorated with works from local artists, available for sale. It will be open for lunch, dinner and late night dining.
