The dinner's designed to be a preview of what the Tallula veteran will cook at the Neighborhood Restaurant Group restaurant he's eventually opening.

Diners don't know much about what Neighborhood Restaurant Group is planning for chef Rob Rubba, but those unfamiliar with his cooking will get a sense of it at a pop-up dinner scheduled for later in the month.

"A Prelude by Rob Rubba" is scheduled for Jan. 24 at Dolcezza Factory. The dinner will feature cocktails from Jeff Faile, a family-style dinner with dishes like roasted duck breast with grilled duck sausage and scallion crepes, wines by Brent Kroll and beer from Bluejacket. Dolcezza is handling dessert. Tickets are $75.

Rubba has recently cooked at such restaurants as Azur and the now-shuttered TallulaWhen the Arlington restaurant closed, NRG said it would be opening a new place with Rubba at the helm eventually.
