Brandon Shapiro is the new chef de cuisine at Wildwood Kitchen in Bethesda.
The chef replaced Judy Beltrano October 1. Shapiro previously worked at the Gaithersburg Brasserie Beck (now Boulevard Tavern), as well as for the restaurant group's Mussel Bar. He's been with the company since 2013.
Shapiro says the culinary approach at Wildwood is a good fit for his personal style of cooking, and he plans to continue the restaurant's fresh, Mediterranean-inspired approach that avoids heavy butter and cream.
