It's opening day for Gusto Italian Grill at 4733 Elm Street in Bethesda.
The fast-casual spot specializes in made-to-order Italian flatbreads with various fillings, as well as pasta and salad bowls. Protein options include grilled chicken, marinated steak, meatball, turkey meatball or Italian pulled pork. Toppings are locally grown vegetables and a variety of Italian sauces. They'll also sell gelato pops for dessert.
The interior aligns with the Italian theme. There's a communal table, textured gray and white walls, stained concrete floors, limestone tiles and wood beams. Another location is also slated to open soon in Silver Spring.
According to the website, they're donating 100% of today's sales to Bethesda Chevy Chase, Walt Whitman and Walter Johnson High Schools.
