Weekend alert: David Chang has opened Momofuku in D.C.
The chef announced the restaurant's opening Saturday on his Instagram account. Earlier in the week, he demurred about the impending opening, saying the staff wasn't quite ready. The opening was at 5 p.m. Saturday at the CityCenterDC development.
The Momofuku team opened sister bakery, Milk Bar, in Washington on Friday in the same development. The opening drew long lines and big crowds.
More details on the full restaurant, known for pork buns, noodles and more, as they become available.
UPDATE, 10/26: The restaurant is open for dinner only seven days a week — a few tables will be available for reservations on the website starting today, but the majority will be reserved for walk-ins, according to a spokeswoman.
The menu changes with the seasons — this restaurant has a bar, noodle bar, main dining room and private dining room. Dishes include noodles like ramen and ginger scallion noodles, four types of buns, Old Bay pork rinds and more. The full menu is here.
