New upscale restaurant Pennsylvania 6 DC is coming to 1350 I St. NW across from Franklin Square. They're planning to open November 20.
The Pennsylvania 6 DC team includes owner Chris Coco, Culinary Director Brian Cooke and Executive Chef Mac Plessis. James Beard Award-winning sommelier Mark Slater will lead the beverage program. Dry-aged steaks, roasted chicken "Diablo" with potato puree and a Berkshire pork chop are highlighted on the modern American menu.
Maggie O'Neill from SwatchRoom designed the 250-seat restaurant with an antique marble-topped raw bar, gold chandeliers in the dining room and a vintage-inspired den with a candlelit hearth.
The American bistro already has branches in New York and Philadelphia. The D.C. location was announced earlier this year.
