BACHELORS— Washingtonian magazine reports George Pagonis of Kapnos was named one of the country's 11 Most Eligible Bachelor Chefs by Marie Claire. The list was inspired by the movie Burnt starring Bradley Cooper as a chef. [Washingtonian]

NOMA— According to the Washington Post, D.C. is getting its own rum distillery. Cotton and Reed plans to open next year in an 80-year-old warehouse at 1330 Fifth St. NE near Union Market. [WaPo]

GEORGETOWN— Turkish bakery and cafe Simit & Smith is coming to Georgetown according to Washington Business Journal. The New York-based chain will move into the former Coterie boutique space at 1077 Wisconsin Ave. NW. [WBJ]
