Halloween Events Galore This Weekend

This weekend's event guide is all about the holiday.

1) Day of the Dead Celebration

What: Pepita's staff will don costumes and serve food specials and themed punches and sangrias. Guests are also encouraged to dress up.

Where: Pepita

When: Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m.

2) Halloween Doughnuts

What: Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken is making a selection of Halloween candy-inspired mini doughnuts. The box ($20) will include a dozen minis in flavors like cinnamon sugar with pumpkin filling, vanilla glazed with crushed Milky Way and many others. The boxes will be available at both locations. Pre-orders can be made through the website or calling (202) 809-5565 in D.C. or (703) 356-0800 in Falls Church. The shop will also give a free doughnut to the first 30 people in costume at each location.

3) Tap Takeover and Costume Party

What: There will be Halloween-themed draft beer and cocktails and a special "Orange, White & Black" pizza,. Prizes will be given for best costumes, with a special category for beer-themed costumes.

When: Saturday at 5 p.m.

4) Halloween at Fish Taco

What: Any child who comes to the restaurant dressed in their Halloween costume will receive their meal free with the purchase of any regular entree.

When: Saturday at 11 a.m.

5) Halloween Cocktails

What: Adam Bernbach at 2 birds 1 stone has designed a hand drawn Halloween-themed offering some classic cocktails like the Corpse Reviver, Blood & Sand and El Diablo. He's also serving original creations like the Slasher Flick with Cotes du Rhone wine and housemade beet and bitter chocolate cola.

When: Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m.
