Tim Ma and Joey Hernandez of Water & Wall and upcoming Kyirisan have joined forces with Michael Amouri of Caffe Amouri to open Chase the Submarine in Vienna. The modern sandwich shop at 132 Church Street NW is named after the couple's son.
Chase the Submarine has 1,600 square feet of space with indoor and outdoor seating for up to 30 guests. The minimalist industrial design features a few warm touches like pale green walls and fresh flowers.
The combination sandwich and butcher shop will also focus on whole animal butchery in addition to serving their signature sandwiches. Think fillings like bulgogi, pineapple braised pork and beer braised beef cheeks. Update: Their plan is to open Wednesday.
