The Washington Post has a few more details about Eatonville's upcoming changes.
The 14th Street eatery will have its last day of service on January 17, and will reopen (hopefully) in mid-February as Mule Bone. The concept will remain much the same — Southern-influenced — but will be under the helm of a new, to-be-determined chef.
This new head will be chosen in-part by celebrity chef Carla Hall, in a Top-Chef-like competition. While such a competition was held when Eatonville first opened in 2009 (and was mired in controversy), the hope is that this chosen chef will take the food in a lighter, more accessible (less deep-fried) direction.
