Van Ness is getting a new multi-concept market next spring.

Soapstone Market is from Tracy Stannard and John Fielding, who are also behind Broad Branch Market in Chevy Chase. Their plans for Soapstone: prepared food items, grab and go items, baked goods, a butcher, seafood and deli counters, a coffee bar, a beer and wine bar and a fast-casual restaurant within the market. There will be indoor and outdoor cafe seating. They plan to open in spring or summer of 2016.

It's a good week for Van Ness; news broke the neighborhood is also getting a restaurant from Fabio Trabocchi.
