The coffeehouse at Politics & Prose is closing for renovations.
In January, they'll add more seating and brighten up the space, according to a notice on the bookstore's website. More details will be revealed closer to reopening. The process could take up to three months. The back coffee shop entrance to the store will also be closed.
As they gear up for the project, they will only serve beverages in the cafe in late December. The store will sell some pastries and beverages on a cart in the store during the renovations.
"Over the next few weeks, we’ll be reducing the menu to prepare for the renovation. During the final week of December the coffeehouse will be serving only beverages. For the period when the coffeehouse is closed for the renovation, we’ll have a coffee cart with beverages and pastries for sale in the store.
"We realize that the temporary closure of the coffeehouse will deprive customers of a favorite hang-out for several months and, as with any construction project, will create some inconveniences. But we're confident that the space will be much improved once the coffeehouse re-opens. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we undertake this project," the notice reads.
The coffee shop changed hands back in March.
