Jennifer Carroll's Requin restaurant isn't opening until mid-2017, but D.C. diners will get to taste her food in Merrifield, beginning Dec. 11.
The seafood-focused Requin's pop-up kicks off in the former Gypsy Soul space next Friday, and will be there until spring. After that, Mike Isabella (who is partnering with Carroll on Requin) takes over the location for a location of Kapnos Kouzina, one of his Greek restaurants.
The pop-up, which will only be open at dinner, will offer menu items like charred and pickled mackerel, fluke ceviche, burgundy snails, cote de boueuf, grilled whole Denver sole, cheese boards, profiteroles, bouillabaisse and a seafood roast. French wines and Belgian beers will accompany the food, among other beverages.
Requin will eventually find its home in The Wharf development in the Southwest waterfront.
