Eatonville is closing to make way for a different restaurant.
The restaurant announced on Facebook that it will close for renovations in late January, and reopen in February with a new menu and beverage program. The ownership remains the same, and Eatonville's "Food and Folklore" series will remain.
"After five commemorative years, Eatonville is coming of age and ready to transform into a concept that will continue to honor its history and its value to the community."
The Southern restaurant, inspired by author Zora Neale Hurston, is located at 2121 14th St. NW. The restaurant is planning a big New Year's Eve bash before it remakes itself.
UPDATE: Here's what's replacing it, from Carla Hall.
