DCity Smokehouse will temporarily operate out of sister bar Wicked Bloom starting next month reports the Washington Post. The barbecue joint has to move out of their current space on Florida Avenue by the end of December, but their new location won't be ready until spring. This pop-up is a solution to the problem.
During this time, meats will be smoked offsite at Union Kitchen in Ivy City. That means the pop-up will offer a limited selection. Several sandwiches on the current DCity menu likely won't make the cut.
The pop-up will launch on January 11, and then operate Monday through Sunday until the meats are sold out. Wicked Bloom will still offer its regular menu.
Rumors about DCity Smokehouse's upcoming move to 1700 Second St. NW first emerged last year. Their last day at the current location is December 24. The new space will now have indoor seating for 35, and a full bar.
