Huge news for the D.C. dining scene: Aaron Silverman, the owner and chef behind critical darling Rose's Luxury, will open a second restaurant next door.
Aaron Silverman has signed a lease to open up a place at 715 8th St. SE, reports Tim Carman. The restaurant will operate as a cafe with coffee during the day, and become a fine dining destination at night.
Silverman tells Carman the restaurant will be fancy but not formal, and — game changer — it will take reservations. But it won't be open on Saturday or Sunday. There's no name for the place yet, but the prix fixe menu will be at least $100 per person.
The new place will give Silverman, who had been toying with several ideas for his second project (including a sandwich shop and a bakery), more kitchen space than his original restaurant.
Rose's Luxury has received numerous accolades since opening, including Bon Appetit's "Best New Restaurant" and a spot on the National Eater 38.
