Trummer's on Main is launching a new "Petit Gourmand" tasting menu expressly aimed at children.
The five-course, $38 menu is aimed at parents who want to bring their kids along for a tasting menu experience. The dishes will change regularly. Trummer's co-owners Stefan and Victoria Trummer came up with the idea because they're trying to get their own children, Lukas and Hayden, to appreciate cuisine.
Dishes from the menu can also be ordered a la carte. Some early dishes include mozzarella risotto balls, beef shortrib stroganoff and miniature chocolate cakes. There are even virgin versions of the restaurant's signature Titanic cocktail available.
Restaurants have been working to provide more sophisticated dining options for kids lately. Harth in McLean, for example, debuted a "foodie in training" kids menu in December.
